Handmade in the Peruvian Amazons from a unique fish, the Pirarucu fish.
The Pirarucu Amazonian fish is from prehistoric times, featuring a uniquely textured and very durable leather.
Also known as the Arapaima fish in some regions, its local name, pirarucu, derives from the indigenous words for "pira" meaning "fish" and "urucum" meaning "red".
Leather has been naturally dyed (using vegetables) in red
All of our fish leather products have been sourced carefully by selecting the most reputable local farmers & makers in the Amazon, this product is being sold one off and is not massively produced.
These species are not protected under any law and are not part of CITES, it is perfectly legal to own this taxidermy specimen.
